Are you bored? Looking for something short and sweet to kill the time? Maybe like a fun sized kit kat bar on halloween. Not too satisfying but a little bit of a good thing. Or something that takes a whole rainy day to read, and at the end leaves you thinking for days.

I have exactly what you [[need.->Untitled 2]] Welcome to the World of Fanfiction! Fanfiction is a tiny but amazing part of the internet where writers, artists, and creators from around the world come together to appreciate, recreate, and remix popular works of fiction.
Whether it's pairing, or shipping as we like to call it, two of your favorite characters together, fixing something that the writers got wrong, or exploring the characters and the relationships in different settings or situations, fanfiction has everything you could want.
Usually you search for fanfiction by the couple of the work of fiction you want to read but today you're going on a [[blind date->person a and person b]] with my favorite ships. On the next slide you're going to get a list of fanfictions that you can pick and choose from. They are all original works of mine with a little twist. Instead of the characters, their names have been replaced with Person A and Person B.
Person A and Person B are whoever you want them to be, whether it's Ross and Rachel, Steve and Bucky, or Ginny and Luna. It's anyone you want them to be.
It's gonna be like the [[dating game->pick a story]]. You'll know the basics, like their voices, but nothing too specific. At the end, you'll get to know more about them and who they really are. But for each of the stories, all of the pronouns will be the gender neutral singular they, not to be confused with the plural "they". Whenever the two character are mentioned at a unit, "the two of them" will be used.
This way you won't feel like you don't know who these people are. They're just two random people. It's a good way to test the waters of fanfiction if you've never read or heard of it before. body {

What is that?" Person B asked nervously pausing at the door. This had to be the wrong house. They hoped they were in the wrong house. But that was their sofa, and that was their collection of civil war portraits, and that was their partner, Person A, petting a dirty hairball in their kitchen.
"It's not a what. It's a who," Person A all but cooed, as they petted the ragamuffin. When Person B didn't respond, they deadpanned. "It's a Komodo Dragon. What do you [[think?"->m.k.5]]

But it was a particularly rainy day. Not many people out and about, less inside browsing the shelves. That left Person A to their own devices. A long neglected read that had been gathering dust on their nightstand was finally getting some attention.
Person A couldn't believe that they'd put off this book for so long. Right as the heroine unlocked the door, and was starting to open it with aggrivating suspense the bell rung.
Person A jumped half a foot in the air and almost dropped their book. Person B was standing in front of the circulation desk, looking as put together was always. If it was possible Person B had dodged the rain and the wind on their way over.

The two of them weren't going to able to go to sleep without talking about what happened. Person A was already a restless sleeper. They would be unbearable without resolving this.
Person A ignored Person B until they were getting ready for bed. Person B plopped down on the bed, pulling their night shirt over their sore muscles. They made no move to get under the covers, and watched as Person A paced in front of them.

Person A was still dressed, wearing their sweater, their hands running through their hair.
"You know, you look pretty cute when you're angry." Person A looked like a present that Person B wanted to unwrap. But Person B knew it was not the time. "C'mon, Person A."
"I just..." They said, pausing in front of Person B. "...I need to get something off my chest."
"Please tell me it's your shirt." Person B sighed, jokingly crossing his fingers and giving Person A a little wink. Person A gave him an unimpressed look in return.
"You can't keep doing this to me," Person A hissed.
"I know."
"No, you don't. You don't know."
"Tell me." Person B said standing up, and stepping in front of them to stop their pacing. "Tell me what I don't know."
Person B watched as Person A searched for the words. They watched Person A's lips, their distracting lips, form words that went unspoken, trying to find the right ones. Person B was close to kissing them, but held back, giving Person A time to think.
"Every time you race in there, breaking down doors and tackling unsubs, my heart stops. I-I know it sounds melodramatic, and statistically you are more than likely to walk out of those situations unharmed based on past events, but every time I see you go in I'm afraid you won't come out." They said in one breath.
"Pers-" Person B started, reaching out their arms to hold onto the crumbling person before him. With that breathe all the anger that had been holding Person A up drained. They looked deflated.
"And when I heard that, that shot..." Their chin wobbled. "You need to be more careful, okay? Because you're not alone anymore."
"You know I didn't mean to scare you." Person B said, pulling them close. They wrapped their arms around Person A, who seemed dead on their feet. "I had to get in there."
"I know," Person A sniffled.
"If I didn't, that girl would be dead."
"You could have died!" Person A cried out, pulling away.
"But I didn't!" Person B raised their voice to match.
"But you could have." Person A looked at them with desperate, wet eyes.
"I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere. Okay?"
"Okay." Person A collapsed back onto him.
The two of them stood holding one another in the center of the room. Person B could hear Person A sniffling against their shoulder.
"I hate feeling like this." Person A mumbled into their shoulder.
"Like what, baby?" Person B rubbed their back.
"Helpless."
"I'm sorry about that, but you know it's part of the job."
"I'm still mad at you." Person A said in a low voice.
"I can take it." Person B said, with a small smile. "Come on, let's go to bed. You can yell at me some more in the morning."
"Don't think I won't." The threat was useless when it was broken up by a yawn. Person B smiled into Person A's tangled hair.
They let go of one another. Person A took out their contacts while Person A changed into the spare pair of pajamas they left at Person B's place for nights like this. When the two of them were both in bed, Person B reached over and switched off the light.
The two of them met under the covers. Person B wrapped their arms around Person A, who rested their head on Person B's chest. One thing that they had learned about Person A when they started dating was they snuggled like a koala.
"I'm sorry." Person B said into the darkness.
"Me too," Person A said close to their ear. Their breath made Person B shiver.
"Why are you sorry?"
"I overreacted."
"It's been a long few days, and we're both tired."
"Yeah," Person A listened to Person B's heartbeat and the sound of the city outside the window.
"You know what this was?" Person B said after a moment.
"What?"
"Our first fight."
"Well, some good came of it. We got it over with."
"Baby I plan on fighting with you for a long time." Person B said with a smirk, kissing Person A on the cheek. "And I plan on making up with you for ever longer."

"Hey, Person A. You're looking down in the dumps." The detective, Person A, had his head in his hands, looking haggard and scruffy. "Did someone take your parking space again?"
"I got here before you, so no. And stop doing that. The motorcycle parking is even closer to the building that my spot." Person A glared at Person B with bloodshot eyes.

"Well, I could but I was gonna offer to help. I have a sure fire cure for the sad-sackiness." Person B said, walking around Person A's desk. Person A kept their eyes on the case file. "I call them emotional jumper cables."
Person B felt Person A tense up as they wrapped their arms around Person A's shoulders, squeezing tight. Their face was in Person A's neck and they rubbed their thumb on his shoulder until they felt Person A loosen up. Person A must be really tired if they weren't trying to get away.
"This is just a hug." Person A said, closing their eyes.
"But it's working, right?" Person B said quietly, close to their ear. They could feel it when Person A shivered.

"Person A, are you okay?" Person C said, looking at the both of them with concern and a healthy dose of shock.
Person A, flustered, tried to move away from the slouched hug but Person B didn't let them, holding tight and resting their chin on top of Person A's head.

Person B nodded into Person A's neck. "Glad you didn't do this in public." Person B said, huffed an unamused laugh.
"I'm going to next time, thought. When we're ready. There will be fireworks and roses, and candles, and all the cliche romantic stuff. It'll be super embarrassing." Person A warned playfully. "Now give me the remote." Person A held out their hand for the remote, and Person B pointedly ignored them.
"Please?"
"Fine, but I don't want to watch that one show that you always make fun of."

"The one with that healer guy," Person B searched for the words. "It's in Seattle."
"Frasier?"
"Yeah, that one." Person B said. "I don't want to watch that."

"Whatever. Pick something else."
"Fine," Person A said, flipping through the channels. The guilt was heavy in Person B's stomach. They felt like they swallowed a ball of yarn. But with Person A's arms around them and the knowledge that they were fine with waiting made them feel a little better.

What do you think?"
"I think it's a dirty feline that has no business in my house."
"Our house," Person A corrected.
"What is it doing here?" They set their bag by the door and hesitantly walked over to Person A. At least the cat didn't smell like shit. It looked like it rolled around in a puddle of mud before it ended up here.
"I found this little bundle of joy outside, looking for a home. She looked like she needed a little TLC, and some tender love and care. So we're gonna watch some house hungers while I feed her milk in a tiny baby bottle that I bought at the dollar store."
"We're not keeping that thing." Person B gestured to it, accidently getting its attention.
"Make sure she doesn't leap off the counter. I'm gonna get her something to drink."
"Don't give it my soy milk. It's expensive and I don't think cats should have soy." It started sniffling at them. They let their hand hover over the counter. That's what you're supposed to do right? Then they trust [[you?->m.k.10]]

"Do cats drink water?" Person A wondered aloud, half of their body in the fridge.
"How should I know?"
"There's still a little bit of my regular, plebian milk left."
"I have a sensitive stomach," They grumbled. It was getting too close. If it tried to jump on their suit jacket would get all dirty. They were planning on wearing this jacket later this week. Her body was all muddy but her face was clean and orange, and dare they say it, cute.
Person A snorted. "Do you see my bag? The bottle is in there."
"Why don't you just use a bowl. It'll be a lot less messy," And a lot less ridiculous. The cat was practically nuzzling them. "Stinky cat." Person B said in a soft voice.
"No, she's a lovely baby." Person A corrected, trying to reach a shallow bowl on the top shelf, the kind that the two of them barely used.
"Fat cat," Person B said, affectionately. They reached out to scratch the cat's ears. It purred back him.
"Noooo," person A pouted and poured a little bit of milk into a bowl and put it on the center of thekitchen island. The cat stayed by Person B, getting pets.
"Annoying, dirty kitty," Person B said leaning down so they were face to face with the feline. The cat got up all close to them and bopped them on the nose with it's [[paw.->m.k.14]]

Person B looked over at Person A, to see their soft smile, but that wasn't allowed apparently. It was only two seconds and she bit them out of retaliation. It wasn't deep, probably wouldn't need a band aid, but it still hurt. They hissed at the pain, and she hissed back.
The two of them were about to get into a feline-human staring contest when Person A started laughing. The cat looked over at Person A who directed her attention to the bowl. "There's a snack over there just for you."
The cat cautiously looked behind her and then scampered over to the bowl.
"This one's mine," Person A said, smiling up at Person B who refused to blush.

"Nope."
"To which part?" Person A asked not looking at Person B, reaching over to run their hand along her back, through her muddy fur.
There was a lot they could be saying no to: the temperature, the name, or the family part.
Person A was right. They had to keep her now. She was so small and sniffly and it broke their heart a little bit to think about her in some animal shelter all alone.
"The name. We are not calling our cat Ms. Kitty."
"Why not? It's cute, logical, and a reference to a historical fiction character. It's the best of both worlds." Person A smiled at them.

This was a big step for the two of them. They'd only been dating for a few months and everything was going great so far. Person A was practically living with Person B. They had a key to Person B's place and slept over almost every night. Person A still had an apartment that they used when they needed some space, but those days were fewer and fewer. They had started refering to Person B's place as their place.
Adding a pet into the mix was a commitment. Although Person A had given no indication that the two of them were at that point and they hadn't really had the relationship talk, this seemed like a gesture. Person A was taking their relationship to the next level.

They could hear meowing and hissed down the hall but it wasn't their problem. Instead of lending a hand, they walked into the living room and plopped down on the sofa. Crossing their ankles on the coffee table, they sat back and channel surfed until they found an old episode of Chopped.
When Person A was done, they'd come back out all wet and snuggled up to Person B and get them all wet. Then they'd dump the grumpy damp cat in their lap, and she'd be all annyoing but then the two of them would settle in and cuddle up. Person B would fall asleep like the elderly person he was turing into. Person A would wake them in the most annoying way possible like the child they were. But Person B's heart felt all fuzzy, and now the three of them were a family, and they were having a cozy night in; they couldn't complain.
